YOUR JOURNEY to joy STARTS HERE

No two remodels are just alike, but every Bellweather project begins the same way: Initial Design. This collaborative discovery process allows us to set intentions for the work ahead. Through curious conversation, we learn your story, your goals, and how we might work together to evolve your home.

Whether you have a clear vision for your home remodel or need help conceptualizing, Initial Design is our time to refine your vision.

OUR APPROACH

Our Initial Design session provides an opportunity for us to dream big, explore solutions, and assess risks before any design or construction begins. Not only is it exciting to see what’s possible at a high level, but this kind of preparation sets the stage for a successful, enduring home remodel.

First, we introduce ourselves to the members of your household. Our goal of this initial meeting is to meet you, get a better understanding of the project, and see if it’s a good fit for us and our process. If it is, we will start to develop a focus and set the target budget for Initial Design. This step is free and happens before a commitment to a partner is needed.

After signing the Initial Design Agreement, we perform a 3D scan of your home to create detailed snapshots and floorplans of the spaces we’ll transform together. These ‘digital twins’ ensure our designs are precise without requiring multiple visits to measure.

Based on your style preferences and project requirements, our design team will present hand sketches, 2D drawings and 3D renderings to help you visualize what’s possible and begin making decisions.

We confirm zoning, engineering, site survey and permitting requirements to understand any potential constraints and guardrails for your project. Planning ahead prevents unforeseen design complications down the road.

We present your project in components with ‘a la carte’ pricing and options that allow us to design within your budget. This way, you get to prioritize where to invest based on your preferences for each space in your home.

With a confirmed set of project priorities, an initial visual concept and budget in place, the project is ready to move forward into the next phase of our design process: Full Design & Development. We’ll walk you through all of the options, guiding you to make the best decisions for your home and family.

Measure twice. Cut once.

The deposit you invest in this important process pays dividends throughout the planning and execution of your remodel. Nearly all our clients exit the Initial Design phase excited to proceed with a direction we’ve presented.

However, if you’re not quite ready to move forward with your project, you’ll still retain the resources yielded from the session, including floorplans, budgets, and even referrals. We’ll be ready to pick things back up when you are.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Initial Design is just the start of our tried and true process. Once you’ve selected your preliminary design preferences and approved a budget, we’ll lead you through more detailed designs before moving into pre-construction and getting to work on your home.
